Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

MISSEgy ("we", "our", or "us") operates the MISSEgy mobile application on behalf of the Egyptian Society for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MISSE).

This Privacy Policy explains how the MISSEgy application handles user information.

The MISSEgy application is intended to provide medical professionals and MISSE members with access to news, conferences, training materials, and educational resources related to minimally invasive surgery.

By using the application, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

MISSEgy does not allow users to create accounts directly within the application, and the app does not request users to submit personal information for registration.

User accounts, when needed for access to restricted member content, are created and managed externally by MISSE administration for eligible association members only.

The application itself does not actively collect personal data from users.

If a member account is provided by MISSE administration, the account may include limited access-related information such as:

This information is created and managed by MISSE administration and is only used to allow access to content relevant to that member.

2. How Information Is Used

If a member account is provided, the information is used only for the following purposes:

MISSEgy does not sell, rent, or trade user information to any third party.

3. Data Storage and Retention

MISSEgy does not collect or store additional personal user data through the application beyond the limited account access information managed by MISSE administration.

If account-related data is stored in MISSE systems or Firebase for login and access control purposes, it is retained only for as long as the account remains active or as long as needed to provide the relevant member access.

If the account is deleted, the associated user document is deleted immediately from the system and can no longer be used to access the application.

Locally stored session data on the device, if any, is also cleared when the user logs out or deletes the account.

4. Data Deletion and Account Deletion

Eligible users who have been given member login access can delete their account directly from within the application.

To delete an account:

Once confirmed, the account is deleted immediately from the system, the user is signed out, and the action cannot be undone.

Deleted accounts cannot be recovered.

If a user needs assistance, they may also contact MISSE using the contact details below.

5. No User-Generated Registration

The MISSEgy application does not provide public self-registration.

Accounts are only created by MISSE administration for approved members or participants, depending on eligibility and access needs.

6. Third-Party Services

The application may contain links to third-party websites or external resources, such as conference pages, training platforms, or official MISSE resources.

These external services operate independently from MISSEgy. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of those third-party services before using them.

7. Children's Privacy

MISSEgy is intended for medical professionals, trainees, and adult members of the association. It is not intended for children under the age of 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect access-related account information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

MISSE may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted through the application or on the official MISSE website.

Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
